Gainesville's Conflict of Interest Program is focused on structuring appropriate, transparent relationships with our valued Industry collaborators. These relationships are critical to the success of our efforts to teach medical students, train residents and fellows, and to provide the very best care for our patients. We also recognize these relationships may create situations of real or perceived conflict of interest. Therefore, we are taking a proactive, responsible and measured approach to identify potential and real conflicts so that we can reduce or mitigate conflicts when we can, and remove them when we must.
Gary Wimsett directs the Conflict of Interest Program for the College of Medicine. He is a lecturer in Medical Ethics and Interdisciplinary Family Health. Mr. Wimsett also serves as a member of the President's Council on Diversity.
On the national level, he is a member of the Forum on Conflict of Interest and the Group on Business Affairs for the Association of American Medical Colleges, a member of the Executive Leadership group for the Association of Academic Health Centers, and a member of the CTSA Regulatory Knowledge Conflict of Interest Affinity Group.
